CENTRE ONE: COGNAC
A week in a self-catering gite at Le Moulin de Chazotte.
Quite apart from the stunning setting and entertainment at Le Moulin
de Chazotte itself, the Cognac area has plenty to offer by way of family
activities. These include cycling, rambling, canoeing, horse-riding,
and fishing, as well as some fascinating historical towns and Roman
sites such as the amphitheatre at Saintes. The lovely Western coastline
is just over an hour's drive away for surfing, miles of sandy beaches
and fresh fish restaurants. There are also the essential tours of the
world-famous Cognac distilleries (Hennesey, Courvoisier, Remy Martin,
Martell, Otard to name but a few) plus masses of gorgeous gourmet restaurants
specialising in the recipes of the South Western France.
CENTRE TWO: A week
with half-board accommodation in a luxury chalet at Barèges in
the heart of the breath-taking Pyrenees.
You'll need a lot longer than a week to take in the amazing range of
activities available for families in the Pyrenees. Just for starters,
how about mountain-walking, climbing and biking, caving and pot-holing,
pony-trekking, paragliding, rafting or hot-dogging down white-water
