Here in the Poitou-Charentes region we have a wealth of golf courses and a wonderful climate which allows a very long playing season. The Poitou-Charentes region of France is made up of three departments (Charente, Charente-Maritime and Deux Sevres). Le Moulin de Chazotte is situated 7 kilometres from Cognac on the border between Charente and Charente-Maritime. There are at least 10 well-appointed golf courses within easy driving distance and eight of these are 18 hole courses. Many of the golf courses have their own websites and some offer an English, Dutch or German translation. |

| Montbron Golf Club: An 18 hole course with a par of 72 over 5994 metres. The first 9 holes of Golf de la Preze were built in 1990, the rest in 2004. The course, in the heart of this beautiful rolling countryside is challenging to golfers and is designed to extend and improve their game. It is set on a spectacular 65 hectare plot and built to an international standard. The course (par 72) is particularly challenging with its many natural obstacles, its lakes and its woodland. Furthermore, the climate is extremely agreeable - a mild winter and a summer with little rain ensure that the course is always in excellent condition, offering attractive fairways and fast, top-class greens. There is also a 30-bay driving range (some covered, some on open grass). In addition there is a large pitching green and separate putting green. Adjacent to the 9-hole golf course is a pitch and putt (par 3) which is ideal for beginners but can be used equally by experienced golfers to improve their technique. |
