Summary: Le Chai is a cosy and (several have said!) highly romantic gite which lends itself perfectly to a family of three or four and also to couples looking for something a little bit "special". It is situated in the lower section of the main mill building and is all at ground floor level with a level tiled floot throughout. Le Chai was custom-designed as holiday or longer term accommodation and so has all the facilities you would expect as well as the charm and authenticity of a suberb Charentais stone-built dwelling. To complete the picture, it has it's own privately enclosed terrace, with barbecue, overlooking the river Chazotte and into the woods beyond.

ACCOMMODATION:
Access: Car parking for the gîte is right alongside the terrace
with a designated parking spot.
The bedroom: There is a large family bedroom which has
a double bed and a pair of full-sized bunk beds in a separate curtained annexe.
The window looks out over the mill-races and into the woods at the rear of the
watermill.
The lounge: The lounge has a comfortable three-piece
suite and coffee table. There is a tv set with both French terrestrial and free-to-view
satellite channels. There is also a cd player and a library of books and games.
The kitchen: The kitchen is small but perfectly formed!
It is fully-fitted and equipped to a very high standard. There
is a fridge with a small freezer compartment (if you intend to stock up with
a lot of frozen food or ice-creams during your stay, then you might like to
use store some of it in one of our freezers). The cooker is electric and has
a full-sized oven. There is a sink with a double drainer, a microwave,a toaster
and a coffee-machine. You can see the layout in the picture above although
that doesn't show the arched window with it's view out towards the river.
The dining area: The dining table and four chairs are set
up to the side of the lounge area.
The bathroom: The bathroom has a large walk-in shower,
a vanity unit, a toilet and a washing machine in it's own alcove.
Additional information: There is a large folder with leaflets
and information about the area and things to do. For off-season lets, Le Chai
has full central-heating, an electric "wood-burning" fire and is fully
double-glazed with hardwood windows and doors.
