"L'Abricotier" gite
A superb gite sleeping up to 6 in three bedrooms.

Summary: L'Abricotier is located in half of the grand main building (belle demeure) with its own separate entrance via an arched doorway at the West end of the mill. The gîte is named after a wonderful apricot tree which was growing against the west-facing wall but which unfortunately didn't survive the builders who re-rendered the wall for us.. A new "abricotier" is now growing vigorously in its place and it has already produced a prolific crop in 2006! L'Abricotier was formerly the coach-house and has an interesting split-level ground floor arrangement. The building features lots of exposed stonework internally and also exposed roof and ceiling beams.

ACCOMMODATION:
Access: The mill is approached via a long driveway through the grounds and there is a parking area 40m from the gîte. Loading and unloading is easily done by parking temporarily on the driveway in front of the gîte. The entrance doorway is directly off the west terrace and leads into the kitchen/dining area of L'Abricotier. This makes it very handy for eating outside and for barbecues.
The terraces: This is the only gite with the distinction of having two terraces, one west-facing and one south-facing! There is a table and chairs as well as a sun parasol.
The dining area: There is an extending table with six chairs. Behind the entrance door are ample coat-hooks.
The kitchen: The luxury kitchen is fully fitted with a double inset sink, an electric cooker with a large oven, a dish-washer, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a microwave, a toaster and a coffee-machine. In addition there is a comprehensive range of kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is a decorative tiled splashback and a tiled floor. A set of three steps lead up to the lounge area.
The lounge: The lounge has a comfortable four-piece suite and a coffee table. There is also a fireplace and a wood-burning stove for use during off-season lets. The tv has French terrestrial xchannels and free-to-view satellite channels. There is a cd player and a range of books and games. A doorway leads through into the next gîte (Le maison de hibou) although this is normally blocked off unless there is a requirement for both gîtes. There is a tiled floor, exposed stonework and lots of exposed timberwork and beams.
The downstairs toilet: There is a toilet in the passageway from the lounge to the foot of the stairs.
The landing: The landing at first floor level leads into the three bedrooms and the bathroom. The floors at this level are all in an attractive laminated oak finish.
Bedroom one: This bedroom has a comfortable double bed, a shower and a wash-basin. The feature window is south facing with a magnificent view across the vines to the village of Cherves-Richemont.
Bedroom two: This bedroom has twin beds and it too has a feature window with the view to the south.
Bedroom three: This is a smaller room containing a pair of full-sized bunk beds. An attractive arch-topped window looks westwards towards the swimming pool and the woods beyond.
The bathroom: The bathroom has a large shower, a vanity unit and a toilet.
Additional information: This gite is finished to a very high standard complete with an hardwood front door and double-glazed hardwood windows. For off-season or long-term lettingss there are electric panel radiators . There is a large wallet containing leaflets and information about the area and things to do.
